Statement of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Principles
Sinclair Method UK Ltd is an independent company, but we are very aware that we are part of a larger society. The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility is meaningful to us, as a company, and we believe it is important that we do our best to support and protect the environment and the communities and society in which we live and work.
As we grow and expand, we will monitor these issues continuously and adapt our CSR work in line with best practice in the field.
Environment:
- We work remotely, by phone or online, eliminating the need for environmentally-harmful travel by either our clients our ourselves, and ensuring both the safety and privacy of our clients – no need to travel to a rehab or treatment centre!
- We make extensive use of video conferencing, but where face-to-face meetings with other businesses and organisations are required, we endeavour to use the most eco-friendly means of transport available.
- Our use of consumables is kept to an absolute minimum, and we work to ensure that what consumables we do use are recycled or recyclable, wherever possible.
Economy:
- The societal cost of alcohol abuse and misuse in lost earnings and productivity, ill health, violence etc. is huge. By working to reduce individuals’ alcohol consumption, we reduce the financial burdens on society, including those associated with treating and addressing the effects of Alcohol Use Disorder.
- We believe that The Sinclair Method should be widely and easily available. To this end, we have worked hard to ensure our pricing model makes access to treatment through Sinclair Method UK as affordable as possible for as many people as possible.
- The financial hardships caused to many people by the COVID-19 pandemic led us to offered discounted rates for people in receipt of UK government benefits during lockdown and for several months thereafter.
Society/community:
- Helping people reduce their alcohol consumption benefits both individual members of a community and society as a whole by reducing incidences of domestic abuse, the breakdown of interpersonal relationships, job loss, hospitalisation, alcohol–fuelled violence in public and private spaces, and criminal convictions.
- We are keen to work with and support local businesses, such as the pharmacy that fills the prescriptions issued by the GPs with whom we work.
- Our charity sponsorship is both a nod to our background in the charity sector and a sign of our belief that those who give back to their communities deserve acknowledgement by society as a whole.
- We support diversity and have zero tolerance of bullying, harassment, or discrimination of any kind, whether within our company or in our dealings with clients and the outside world.
